Vol. 180 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Diesel Oil: Tax Yield.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each of the years 1954 to date the quantity in gallons of diesel oil used in (a) commercial and passenger vehicles and (b) agricultural tractors and farm machinery; and the total amount of tax collected on (a) and (b), respectively.

No information is available as to the quantities of rebated oils used in agricultural tractors and farm machinery. As regards commercial and passenger vehicles the information is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

Could the Minister say if there is any tax at the present on diesel oil used in agricultural machines on a farm?

I am afraid I should have to get notice of that question.
