14.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the make and cost of each car purchased since March, 1957 for the use of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.

The cars purchased since March, 1957 were—1 Austin Princess; 1 Ford Fairlane; 2 Ford Zodiacs; 2 Mercedes; 4 Humber Super Snipes; 6 Rovers and 8 Chevrolets.

The average cost is estimated at £2,164. This figure includes cost of drivers, maintenance, overheads, petrol, oil, repairs and replacements.

Mr. Ryan

That, of course, is free of income tax?
