As regards announced increases in the price of the 2 lb. loaf since 10 November, 1959, the only particulars available to the Central Statistics Office are the statements in the public Press that two increases of ¼d. were to apply, one on 16th November, 1959, and the other on 29th February, 1960. The Office has no means of ascertaining whether, in fact, such increases were applied in all cases.
They must not eat any bread there at all.
Would the Taoiseach agree that the price of the 2 lb. loaf now is ?d.?
The price is not controlled.
The Taoiseach does not deny that that is the price of the 2 lb. loaf now as compared with 9½d. in 1957.
