Vol. 180 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Language: Minister's Speech.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if the speech by the Minister for Defence on the Irish language at Mallow on the 21st March represents the Government's attitude towards the language revival generally.

The Minister's speech correctly represented the Government's policy in regard to the restoration of the national language.

Might I inquire if the language employed and the sentiments expressed by the Minister for Defence faithfully represent the attitude of the Government?

I was asked for the Government's policy and I replied to that question.

If the Taoiseach is not prepared to answer the other question, I am prepared to accept that.
