Vol. 180 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment and Emigration in Ballycroy (Mayo).

asked the Taoiseach if he is aware that the parish of Ballycroy in North Mayo has been and is being seriously affected by unemployment and emigration; and, if so, whether there are any proposals in any Department that may be soon implemented to relieve that situation.

I understand that there is work available at present at the Bord na Móna development near Bellacorick, that the Department of Lands will shortly resume a turbary development scheme at Dooreel and arrangements have been made for the erection of a new National School at Shranamanragh. It is also expected that some employment will be given in the current year on road work in the parish.
