Vol. 181 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Martinstown (Kildare) Cow Park.

11.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have yet reached a decision on the question of setting aside portion of the land on the Walshe Estate at Martinstown, Enfield, County Kildare, for use as a cow-park.

This estate has been partly allotted. The Deputy's representations for a cow-park are on record in connection with the residue which has not yet been allocated.

Could the Minister give any indication at this stage as to when the remainder of this estate will be divided?

I understand that there is a question of a migrant concerned. I just could not say when the Land Commission will be able to complete the allocation.

The Land Commission have had this estate in hands for a couple of years.

Approximately two years.

They do not regard it as private property, I take it?

They will divide it?

There have been lands in the hands of the Land Commission for a much longer period.

It is a very bad practice, I think the Minister will agree.
