Vol. 182 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shelter for Fishing Boats at Bannow (Wexford).

47.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the facilities at Bannow, County Wexford, are inadequate to provide shelter for fishing boats; and if he will take steps to ensure that improvements are effected.

My Department has received representations about the need for improvements at two sites in the Bannow area—at Kiln Bay and St. Kearin's. The position at Kiln Bay is under consideration. In the case of St. Kearin's, where the pier is privately owned, I am not aware of any development since I indicated in reply to a question by the Deputy on 3rd December last that the matter should in the first instance be taken up with the owner and Wexford County Council.
