asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the whereabouts of each industry established during the past three years with financial assistance from State funds (1) in the undeveloped areas and (2) in the rest of the country; and the number and whereabouts of any of these industries which have since closed down.

The whereabouts of industries established either in the undeveloped areas or in the rest of the country with the assistance of grants by An Foras Tionscal under the Undeveloped Areas Acts and the Industrial Grants Act, 1959, are shown in the Annual Reports of that body. In compliance with statutory requirements the Annual Report of An Foras Tionscal is laid on the table of each House of the Oireachtas. The Report for the year ended 31st March, 1960, will be published shortly.

The whereabouts of projects established outside the undeveloped areas, with the assistance of grants from the Industrial Development Authority under the Industrial Grants Act, 1956, prior to the transfer of responsibility for such grants to An Foras Tionscal in August, 1959, are shown in the Annual Reports of the Authority under that Act.

The Industrial Credit Company, which is a State-sponsored body, includes in its functions the providing of loan finance for industry. In accordance with the normal commercial practice the Industrial Credit Company do not disclose details of loan arrangements made between them and individual industrial promoters.

Of the projects assisted by An Foras Tionscal over the past three years, one, located in Dún Laoghaire, has since closed down.
