Vol. 183 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accidents on Naas Road.

20.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of accidents on the Naas road from (1) Inchicore to Blackchurch and (2) Blackchurch to (a) Monasterevan, (b) Athy and (c) Castledermot which have come to the notice of the Garda Síochána in each of the past five years, and the number of persons who have been killed and injured in such accidents in each of the years.

While the Question refers in general terms to the Naas road, which I think is generally taken to mean the Dublin-Naas road, the details asked for do not relate exclusively to that road. Moreover, the figures sought in part (2) of the Question involve a considerable amount of overlapping, since the road between Blackchurch and Naas is included in (a), (b) and (c) of part (2), and the road from Blackchurch to Kilcullen is included in (b) and (c). Subject to this explanation, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate the figures in the Official Report.
