Vol. 183 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roscommon Drainage Scheme.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received the report on the survey carried out by Roscommon County Council in connection with the completion of the drainage scheme for the Crannagh Cross river; and whether immediate steps will be taken to provide the necessary finance to enable the work to be put in hands in view of the very serious flooding at present threatening lands adjoining the river.

I have received from Roscommon County Council a report and plans in connection with the completion of the drainage scheme for the Crannagh Cross River, at a total estimated expenditure of £26,171, and these are being examined. A decision will be conveyed to the county council as early as possible.

May I take it that the decision will be made known before the council's next meeting, which will be in the next three weeks?

I should hope that it will be.
