Vol. 185 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dundrum (Tipperary) Dispensary.

2.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for the undue delay in having a new dispensary erected at Dundrum, County Tipperary; if he is in a position to state whether an advertisement inviting tenders for its erection has been sanctioned by his Department; and if in view of the fact that people desiring attendance at the dispensary must wait on the public street under inclement weather conditions he will take immediate action to expedite its erection.

In April, 1957 my Department approved of a proposal of the Tipperary (South Riding) County Council to purchase a site in Dundrum for the erection of a dispensary. The site has not yet been acquired and I understand that the delay has been occasioned mainly by difficulty in establishing title to the property. This difficulty has now been resolved and it is expected that the local authority will acquire the site shortly and be in a position to proceed on their own initiative with the erection of the dispensary on the basis of a standard plan approved by my Department.
