Vol. 186 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tuberculosis Patients' Allowance: Deduction of Income Tax.

35.

asked the Minister for Finance whether income tax is deducted from the money allowance given to tuberculosis patients or their dependants; and, if so, if he will make provision for the discontinuance of this practice.

I am not aware that Income Tax is deducted from the allowances payable to tuberculosis patients or their dependants under the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) Regulations, 1952.

If the Deputy has a particular case in mind and will furnish me with the necessary details, I shall be glad to have it investigated.
