asked the Minister for Agriculture the total amount collected by Bord na gCon by way of levy from bookmakers for the year ended the 31st December, 1960, the amount given by the Bord to greyhound owners in increased stakes, the amount paid in wages, salaries and expenses to members of the Bord, the amount spent or paid in wages, salaries and expenses to officials of the Bord, the amount handed over by the totalisator to the Bord and the amount collected by the totalisator on the Dublin greyhound tracks.

I have not yet received from Bord na gCon a statement of their accounts for 1960 and am therefore not in a position to give information on the matters mentioned in the Question. Under Section 19 (2) of the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958, the Bord have not less than 90 days after the end of the year to furnish their audited accounts to me. The accounts will in due course be laid by me before the House in accordance with the Act.
