The Board of the Cancer Association of Ireland has been re-organised and is functioning.
I intend, however, to set up a Consultative Council under Section 98 (3) of the Health Act, 1947, with the following terms of reference:—
"to advise the Minister for Health on such matters related to the organisation and co-ordination of services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of malignant diseases and such benign conditions as are amenable to treatment provided for malignant diseases in humans as he may refer to them."
The composition of the Council has not yet been determined.
