Comprehensive information relating to the numbers of persons in the State, classified by income ranges, is not available. The only official data relate to the numbers of males and females employed in industries covered by the Census of Industrial Production and the latest year for which the data are available is 1958. I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the numbers of males and of females in certain income ranges which approximate to those mentioned by the Deputy.
