Vol. 191 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Housing Schemes.

26.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received proposals from Limerick County Council for the provision of new housing schemes at Newcastle West, Drumcollogher and Askeaton; and, if so, if he will state the present position in regard to each of these schemes.

Plans for a scheme of 12 houses at Newcastle West were received on the 12th July and are under consideration in my Department.

No proposals for a housing scheme at Drumcollogher have yet been received, but I understand that plans for a scheme at this centre are in course of preparation by the housing authority.

Plans for a 6-house scheme at Askeaton which were received on the 13th July have been examined and returned to Limerick County Council for amendment.

Would the Minister agree that this scheme has been with his Department for the past four years and there have been numerous requests for the clearing of this scheme?

Which scheme?

Askeaton.

I do not agree with a scheme unless I can stand over it and I do not stand over that.
