I move that the Committee agree with the Seanad in amendment No. 1:
Section 4 deleted.
The Bill, as passed by Dáil Eireann, contained in Section 4 some minor provisions to amend Section 22, subsection (1) of the Pilotage Act, 1913, which would, inter alia, abolish the requirement that statistical returns from Pilotage Authorities be presented to the Oireachtas. The wish was expressed by the Leader of the Opposition that this requirement might be retained and, since I had no strong views in the matter one way or the other, I undertook to have the section dropped from the Bill in the Seanad. The Bill, with Section 4 deleted, has been approved by the Seanad and is now recommended to the House in its amended form.
