Vol. 193 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Clare Land.

66.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Lands why the Land Commission have refused to acquire land at Carrownanelly, Clarecastle, County Clare, which is the property of the Public Trustee, England, adjoins the main road between Ennis and Shannon Airport, is being neglected and is rapidly deteriorating.

I am informed by the Land Commission that they have inspected this property but have found that the lands are not suitable or required for their purposes.

Mr. Donnellan

We are not down in Claremorris now. If we attend to the land rather than to NATO, we shall be better off.
