Vol. 193 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portlaoise Town Planning Appeal.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government the grounds upon which he decided the town planning appeal of Mr. Richard O'Brien, Portlaoise, and upheld the refusal of the local authority to permit Mr. O'Brien to build a private garage; and whether he is aware that as a result of his decision a family which is giving a good local service has been faced with enormous difficulties.

The Planning Authority refused permission on the grounds that the erection of the proposed structure would injuriously affect the amenities of the area and, being satisfied that these grounds were adequate, I confirmed their decision.
