Vol. 193 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Dublin Secondary School Facilities.

79.

asked the Minister for Education what steps are being taken to remedy the shortage of secondary school facilities in the new Dublin residential districts of Beaumount, Santry, Clontarf, Raheny and Coolock.

Recognised secondary schools are private institutions and so the initiative in establishing them does not lie with my Department.

Four new secondary schools have been provided in the districts in question since 1950. I am happy to be able to inform the Deputy that I understand that steps are in train towards the establishment of seven further new secondary schools in these areas.

Question No. 80, to the Minister for Defence. The Minister not being present, Questions Nos. 80 and 81 are postponed.

When will I get an answer to my questions?

I never saw this happen in the House before.
