asked the Minister for Justice whether any representations were made by the members of the Judiciary for increases in salary; and, if so, what was the basis of such representations.

Communications between members of the Judiciary and the Minister for Justice regarding the remuneration of the Judiciary have always been regarded as confidential. I am not prepared to give the information asked for by the Deputy.

Can the Minister say if any representations were made to him by members of the Judiciary?

I would have hoped that members would be responsible about this matter.

Only six months ago, you were talking about putting people in jail for asking for their increases. You will have to fight for this.
