Vol. 194 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Housing.

46.

asked the Minister for Local Government what plans his Department have under consideration at present for the provision of houses in the towns of Wexford, Enniscorthy, New Ross and Gorey, County Wexford.

A layout plan was submitted on the 6th instant by the Enniscorthy Urban District Council for a scheme of 28 houses. House plans for this scheme have already been approved. A Compulsory Purchase Order in respect of the acquisition of lands for six houses in New Ross is under consideration. Plans have been approved for another scheme in New Ross for 20 houses and submission of the specification is awaited. I understand that schemes are being formulated for the provision of further houses in the towns of Wexford and Gorey but there are no plans for the provision of houses by the housing authorities concerned at present before my Department.

I assume the Minister has not got the survey from some of these towns?

I gave the list the other day. Some of them we have got and some we have not yet received. Not all of them have been received.
