asked the Minister for Health in respect of each of the last five years how much money has been recouped by the Dublin Health Authority from other health authorities in respect of payments made for specialist out-patient treatment in voluntary hospitals.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Treatment: Recoupment of Dublin Health Authority.
Mr. Ryan
The Dublin Health Authority in its present form came into existence on 1st July, 1960. Before that date out-patient specialist services were provided in voluntary hospitals by arrangement with the Dublin Corporation and that body obtained recoupment from other health authorities, including Dublin County Council. Dublin Health Authority has now replaced both the Corporation and the County Council as health authorities.
The amounts recouped to the Dublin Corporation by health authorities other than Dublin County Council up to the date of the establishment of the unified authority and to the unified authority since that date are as follows in respect of the five years ending 31st March, 1962, the last-mentioned figure being partly estimated:—
