Vol. 194 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply for Abbeyleix School.

71.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that there is no water supply available to the pupils of Knock School, Abbeyleix, County Laois; that there is no public pump within quite a considerable radius; and that the only water obtainable is from a deep open well which is extremely dangerous; and whether in view of this he will consider providing water for this new school without further undue delay.

I understand that while there is no piped water supply laid on to Knock national school, Abbeyleix, there is a source of supply convenient to the school. I am having inquiries made as to whether it would be feasible to provide drinking water and flush sanitation in the school.
