No application on the lines mentioned has been received in relation to Land Commission building workers in Co. Kildare. However, if such an application is received, I shall be prepared to consider it, subject to the terms of the general agreement reached last October between the Federation of Builders, Contractors and Allied Employers of Ireland and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (Building Industry).
Would the Minister recommend that Deputy Crinion ask these people to become members of trade unions?
I would hate to deprive the Deputy of his normal occupation.
