The amount of money actually paid by my Department as grants to Mayo County Council in the 12 months ended on 31st December 1956 was £285,296.
In addition to the foregoing, sums amounting to £1,655 collected by my Department on behalf of the Mayo County Council in respect of medical treatment of British ex-servicemen and workhouse rents were also paid over.
