The relevant returns are compiled in respect of financial years. In the year ending 31st March, 1957, the number of grants paid by Mayo County Council was 742 in respect of new houses and 1,077 in respect of reconstructed houses. The total amounts paid were £138,360 and £76,784 respectively.
