A proposal for the acquisition of land for the provision of private building sites at Droichead Nua was submitted to my Department on the 28th April. I am not yet in a position to say when a decision will be issued, but there will be no avoidable delay in dealing with the matter.
Will the Minister try to expedite that as much as possible inasmuch as, for the last local authority house that was vacant, there were no fewer than 56 applicants? Although this is for private building, it will to some extent siphon off the demand for the other.
I shall ask the Minister to deal with it as quickly as possible.
