Ashford is one of the Garda stations listed for urgent replacement. The Commissioners of Public Works have not yet succeeded in acquiring a site at this centre suitable for the erection of a new station. It is not possible, therefore, to say when building operations will commence.

It is proposed to erect a new station and two sets of married quarters at Rathdrum, and a site for this purpose has been acquired. The Commissioners of Public Works have informed me that the development of the site will commence as soon as the agreement of the local authority to the supply of water to the proposed new premises has been secured.
