asked the Taoiseach how many persons were killed or fatally injured in road accidents in the Twenty-Six Counties during (a) 1961 and (b) 1962 to date.

asked the Taoiseach the number of persons who were killed or fatally injured in road accidents in Dublin City and County during (a) 1961 and (b) 1962 to date.

I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together. The total number of persons killed in road accidents in the year 1961 was 332. The number killed in road accidents in Dublin City and County in the same year was 87. The corresponding figures for the first three months of 1962, the latest period for which the particulars of casualties are available, were 57 and 13 respectively.
