Schemes for training boys as fishermen and for training fishermen as skippers are advertised by my Department from time to time but anybody interested may have his name recorded without waiting for an advertisement.
The scheme for training boys as fishermen has recently been advertised and the closing date for receipt of applications is 5th June. For the convenience of fishermen the scheme for training them as skippers is usually advertised early in the winter. On the last occasion there were 21 applicants.
Would the Parliamentary Secretary indicate where these people are from?

I have not got the exact figure but there were some from the west.
