Vol. 195 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rathmines (Dublin) Garda Station: Parking Facilities.

58.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice whether the plans for a new Garda station at Lissonfield House, Rathmines, Dublin include the provision of a public car park in view of the need to provide such accommodation for the cars of persons resorting to the Garda station and to the Catholic Church on the opposite side of the road.

I am all in favour of the provision of adequate car parking facilities in connection with the erection of new buildings of any sizable dimensions in the vicinity of traffic arteries.

I have no doubt that in so far as the site in question may lend itself to the provision of parking facilities full consideration will be given to that aspect when the layout of the new Garda Station is being designed.
