Vol. 196 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wage Claim by Clonmel Hospital Staff.

12.

asked the Minister for Health the present position of the wage claim made by the non-nursing staff of Saint Luke's Hospital, Clonmel, County Tipperary, which was heard some time ago by the Labour Court; and if he will take steps to expedite the meeting of this claim.

I understand that the wage claim put forward on behalf of certain non-nursing staffs employed in mental hospitals was heard by the Labour Court on 12th April last, and that the Labour Court's recommendation on the claim issued to the managers on 4th instant. The recommendation is a matter for consideration by the managers in the first instance. Any proposals for revision of rates of pay submitted to my Department, arising from such recommendation, will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
