asked the Minister for Local Government what provision he is making in order to increase the pensions payable to retired attendants and staff of Portlaoise Mental Hospital; if he is aware that such pensioners are in receipt of very low pensions having regard to the present cost of living and existing conditions of employment in the Institution compared to the period in which they were employed; and if he will examine the case of these pensioners and other such pensioners of mental hospital boards throughout the country.
