60.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will ascertain from the Kerry County Council the cause of the delay in starting the extension of the Castlegregory water supply to Aughacashla and Kilcummin, County Kerry with further extensions to Fermoyle, as the people of those areas are getting impatient over the undue delay.

Approval has been issued to proposals for a water supply extension to Aughacashla and I understand that this extension will be carried out shortly by direct labour. I understand also that the Council have not yet reached a final decision regarding the further extensions to Kilcummin and Fermoyle.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will ascertain from the Kerry County Council the cause of the delay in starting the Minnard water supply scheme, as the people of that area are getting annoyed over the delay.

Kerry County Council are at present negotiating for the acquisition of land and water rights for this scheme. The scheme cannot be put to tender until such rights have been acquired.
