I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the particulars requested by the Deputy in respect of the year 1956, which is the most recent year for which a complete Census of Distribution was carried out. The analysis included in the final report of that census, recently issued under the title "Census of Distribution 1956-1959" (Presentation Number 5760), contains a section dealing with sales per head of population, from which the particulars given in the statement have been abstracted.

*Where large market towns are situated at or near county boundaries an attempt has been made to bring marketing areas into better relation with the areas in which shops are situated by transferring certain Rural Districts from adjoining counties to the counties where the towns are located. Particulars of these adjustments and of the sub-counties into which the counties of Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Mayo and Tipperary have been divided, are given in the publication Census of Distribution, 1956-1959.
Could the Parliamentary Secretary tell me the position of my own constituency, Waterford, in that table?
The Deputy may obtain that information from the report to which I have referred.
