Mr. Sweetman

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of the last ten years (calendar or financial as may be convenient) for each of the counties of Meath, Westmeath and Kildare the number of holdings (other than turbary) allotted to (a) migrants and (b) local applicants, excluding from each sites allotted for building purposes, and the number of such sites so allotted and the area usually allotted as a building site.

In so far as the information requested is available, the reply takes the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

NOTES

1. Classified statistics for year ended 31st March, 1962, are not yet available.

2. Separate statistics are not compiled in relation to building sites allotted by the Land Commission. Such Allotments are rare and, apart perhaps from lands made available to local Authorities for building purposes, would not normally exceed an acre.
