Of the 16 cases referred to, Nos. 248 and 158 had already been sanctioned. Sanction to proceed with No. 247 recently issued to the county engineer. In 11 cases the inspector's reports have just been received and are under examination at Head Office. I regret that it is not possible at this stage to say when final decisions will be made in these cases, as progress depends amongst other things on the speed and decisiveness with which applicants reply to queries about valuations. The remaining two applications, Nos. 257 and 258, were only recently received and they are awaiting inspection. It is not possible at this stage to say how soon they can be dealt with.
