asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that there has recently been a steep increase in the amount of advertising aimed at the general public in the city of Dublin seeking investment in property outside the State; whether he has any control over advertising of this type with a view to ensuring the reliability of such advertisers; and whether, in view of recent cases involving the loss of investments by many Irish citizens, he will investigate the possibility of exercising control over the activities of investment companies, not working through normal investment channels, with a view to protecting the public.
