Vol. 196 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 9—and in 9, Votes 8 and 9—4, 10, 5, 11 and 12.

I understand that some time ago it was thought it might become necessary to render some further financial assistance to St. Patrick's Copper Mines at Avoca and that this matter might come before the House in the form of an Estimate? Will any such action be necessary before the House adjourns or have the difficulties been surmounted?

I cannot answer that question now.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce might give us an indication of whether any action in this respect will become necessary before the House adjourns.

I am speaking for the Minister for Industry and Commerce and can say the matter is very much under consideration.

I have nothing to add to that.

Now the Deputy has got a pretty plain hint.
