Vol. 196 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay of Cork Employment Exchange Cleaner.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance why the male cleaner employed in Cork Employment Exchange has not been given an increase in pay, whereas all other cleaners, male and female, employed in Government offices in Cork have been granted an increase.

Rates of pay for cleaners come within the scope of the conciliation and arbitration scheme for the Civil Service. No claim has been made under the scheme on behalf of the grade of part-time male cleaner to which the officer mentioned in the question belongs. Revised rates of pay have recently been agreed through conciliation machinery for other grades of cleaner.
