asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the necessity of having a telephone kiosk erected at Tarbert, County Kerry in view of the fact that the acting dispensary doctor resides in Listowel and that the local residents have no possible way of contacting him in the case of an emergency arising during the night; and whether he will take immediate steps to have such a kiosk erected.

It is intended to provide a kiosk at Tarbert in the normal way as soon as it can be fitted into the kiosk programme. I do not, however, accept the suggestion in the Deputy's question that a telephone kiosk must be provided in any area which has not got a resident dispensary doctor.
