While I do not accept, in advance of an examination, that the Garda Síochána Disciplinary Regulations require to be amended, it has for some time been my view that it is desirable that these and other Garda Regulations, which were made nearly forty years ago, should be examined in my Department with a view to ascertaining whether they should be amended, and if so, in what respects.
I had already arranged that an examination of the Garda Disciplinary Regulations would be undertaken in the near future.
