asked the Minister for Justice the number of ballrooms attached to hotels or licensed restaurants in the County Borough of Dublin and the Dublin Metropolitan District; how many of these sought special exemption orders in each of the last five years for dances (a) at which a substantial meal was served, and (b) at which a substantial meal was not served; and if he will state in respect of each ballroom the total number of such licences granted in each of the last five years.

The total number of ballrooms attached to hotels and licensed restaurants in the area is 22. The answers to the remaining parts of the question are in the form of tabular statements which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. The premises concerned are not identified by name as it would be contrary to practice to publish officially the names of parties concerned in court proceedings.
