Vol. 197 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bog Development Schemes.

50.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received a certificate of completion, the amount of money spent, and whether it is proposed to provide money for further improvement in 1963-64, in respect of the following work included in the Bog Development Schemes for 1962-63: reconditioning of the bog drain from the county road culvert near John Glynn's old forge, west to Michael Fox's turf bank with the branch north to Joseph Hughes' turf bank.

A certificate of completion has been received in this case. The amount expended was £90. It is not proposed to provide money for the further improvement of this bog drain in 1963-64.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary reconsider that decision and have another look at it, because there is grave danger of flooding of land further down?

Of course we can always have a look at it but the reports indicate that it would not be worth while.
