The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance has informed me that the Commissioners of Public Works expect to be in a position in the near future to decide whether a new station should be built at Rathangan as an alternative to carrying out major repairs on the present station.

A site which had been selected and approved for the new Garda station at Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, is not now available. I understand that a suitable alternative site may be available and this is being investigated.

A contract has been placed for the erection of a new Garda station and a set of married quarters at Ballivor. The building is due for completion before the end of July next year.
