asked the Minister for Agriculture (a) the total number of dairy cows in County Limerick which have been tested to date under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme, (b) the percentage of this total which has reacted to the test, and (c) the total number of those reactors which have already been removed from the dairy herds.

The total number of cows in dairy herds in County Limerick which received their first test under the Scheme up to 30th September, 1962, was 95,680 and the percentage of the cows which reacted to the test was 40 per cent. The number of cows in herds which received retests up to 30th September, 1962, was 112,367 and the percentage which reacted to the retests was 16 per cent. The total number of cow reactors removed from the County under the Scheme up to 30th September, 1962, was 51,135.
