asked the Minister for Local Government how many housing inspectors operate in the whole of the State at the present time; and how they are allocated.

The number of housing inspectors, including building inspectors, operating at present is 51. The present allocation of this staff is set out in a tabular statement, which with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be included in the Official Report.
