Vol. 197 No. 6

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1 and 5—Votes 42, 10 and 23; Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. I should perhaps inform the Dáil that it is not proposed to ask Deputies to meet on Tuesday next.

Fianna Fáil Árd Fheis.

I hope similar consideration will be extended on the occasion of a corresponding function in May.

I think some consideration will be extended but, of course, the Deputy appreciates that the obligation of keeping a House rests on the Government.

I do not raise any opposition at the moment, but I suggest the Taoiseach bear one thing in mind. I understand the Government have decided not to put before the House what we were originally told was the Local Government Vote because of the indisposition of the Minister, on foot of which I expressed our readiness to excuse his earlier discourtesy. I trust he will be fully restored to health at an early date, both for his own benefit and for the convenience of his colleagues in Dáil Éireann.
