A site for the new Garda station at Rathdrum, County Wicklow, was acquired in 1957 but the building of the station was held up owing to an objection by the local authority to the development of the site. The local authority have recently withdrawn their objection and the planning of the new station is now in hands. It is expected that tenders will be invited by the summer of 1963.

It is proposed to build a new Garda station and one set of married quarters in Carnew, County Wicklow. A site for the new station has been selected and agreement to purchase has been reached with the owner but the legal formalities have yet to be completed.
